On 2 July, Hipoges participated as a Premier Sponsor at the 16th NPL Iberian Forum Spain, one of Spain’s leading events for professionals in the NPL market, organised by CMS People. Held at El Beatriz Madrid, the event brought together more than 450 attendees, over 30 speakers and 40 sponsors, once again establishing itself as a key forum for analysing the evolution of the sector and sharing perspectives on the market’s main challenges and opportunities.
At a time when the non-performing asset market continues to evolve towards increasingly sophisticated models, the event focused on the new dynamics transforming the industry. The reduction in the volume of traditional NPL transactions has given way to an environment in which performing and re-performing portfolios, private credit, asset-backed strategies and the role of servicers as integrated asset management platforms are becoming increasingly prominent.
As a leading sponsor of the event, Hipoges played a particularly active role in both the conference programme and the networking activities, reaffirming its position as one of the key players in the Iberian asset management market.
Hipoges’ perspective in the sector’s key discussions
Hipoges was represented on the conference programme by two of its senior executives, who took part in some of the day’s most relevant discussions.
Rita Couto, Global Chief Operating Officer at Hipoges, joined the panel “The New Order of the Debt Market”, during which industry experts examined how the Spanish market has evolved from a phase focused on balance sheet reduction towards an environment characterised by financial innovation, the development of new investment structures and the growing importance of alternative lending.

Pedro Valle, Chief Business Development Officer at Hipoges, took part in the discussion “Distressed vs. Performing: Where is the Value in 2026?”. The session examined how value is being redistributed between traditional distressed debt and the new opportunities offered by performing and re-performing portfolios, as well as special situations. The panel addressed matters including pricing, risk-adjusted returns and active management as a differentiating factor for generating value in an increasingly competitive market.

In addition to these contributions on stage, the Hipoges team was also represented by Nuno Antunes, Chief Global NPL & RE Officer, Milena Gozalo, Portfolio Management Director, and Luis Ramírez, Head of Sareb. They actively participated in the networking sessions and in meetings held throughout the day with clients, investors and industry partners.
An event focused on anticipating market trends
Throughout the day, the programme addressed some of the topics expected to shape the sector’s development over the coming years. These included capital optimisation through securitisations and Significant Risk Transfer transactions, the secondary debt market, the application of artificial intelligence and business intelligence to asset management, the growth of alternative lending and new strategies designed to maximise the value of real estate assets.
These discussions highlighted that specialised management, advanced data analysis and the ability to provide integrated solutions will remain decisive factors in responding to the evolving requirements of banks, funds and institutional investors.

Hipoges’ participation in CMS People’s 16th NPL Iberian Forum Spain reflects the company’s commitment to the development of the market and to creating knowledge-sharing opportunities that encourage the exchange of experiences between the industry’s leading players.
