For the past few months, HipoGes has been adapting to this new reality, including the new way of attending events.
On May 13th and 14th, HipoGes participated in the online event “DDTalks – NPL Days“. For 3 days and through a series of webinars, different professionals from the sector met virtually to share their views on the new situation of distressed assets after the coronavirus outbreak.
The event covered several issues such as the present and future of the different market niches that form the ecosystem of distressed assets, analyzed some specific geographical areas such as Spain, Greece and Italy, and focused particularly on the impact of COVID-19.
On Wednesday 13th, Phil Walker (Strategic Adviser Global Market & Clients) participated in a panel with other leading professionals on the future of the distressed asset market in Spain. Phil shared his views on how the new situation affects the different players in the market as well as the role of servicers in this scenario.
On Thursday 14th, it was Hugo Velez (General Manager Partner) who participated in a panel on the development of the Greek NPL market, where important current issues affecting Greece were analysed, such as the situation of the Hercules project and four banks and the progress of the securitization market.
In total, more than 300 professionals attended the different panels in which HipoGes participated, with Phil and Hugo.

The DD Talks NPL event was a breath of fresh air from a new name in the virtual conference market.
It was well organised over 3 days across 6 topics and had a good quality audience from across the sector. I was impressed by the quality and relevance of the panels and delighted to have been able to present and participate in the Spanish market segment to offer insights and pose some challenging thoughts on the Spanish NPL market.
The post conference metrics and number of approaches since the conference proved it relevance.
